I think it is important to shed light in films on some unfortunate trends happening in our society. I have always admired Frances McDormand’s work. She portrays an older woman who lives out of her vehicle. Yet she and her contemporaries have a feeling of camaraderie and a community feeling of helping one another. Homelessness is a present problem. I admire actresses who don’t necessarily demand glamorous roles. And I must admit the lure of the open road is a siren song even to this writer – but not in this time of covid.
