My sense is this could have been a really great movie. It’s definitely not bad. But I sense there could have been more passion between the leads. I like Reese Witherspoon and admire her talent, and her leading man is fine, but…. Something is missing. Hal Holbrook is wonderful and I am so happy to see him still acting. Personally I’d give the elephant an Oscar.

As a footnote I had the pleasure of watching Hal Holbrook in the Boulder Theatre in a one man show of Mark Twain many moons ago.
