Fine, fine acting in this. And I don’t think it’s necessarily a downer. About the loss of a child. I sympathized a bit more with Nicole Kidman’s character. She is trying to sew back the gaping hole in her heart by common sense, putting things away and acceptance. She even befriends the actually quite nice teenager who accidentally killed her son. If you are looking for a romp, this isn’t it. But it’s not totally somber either. And to answer a question raised about the group therapy in this film, 8 years of soul searching seems a bit long to me. But if you appreciate art, even if a little uncomfortable, rent.
